Currency
How your organization's default currency works and how to change it.
Overview
Every pipeline has a currency, and every deal on it is expressed in that
currency. Your organization also has a default currency: the currency a new
pipeline starts in. A new organization starts with USD.
The default currency is only a starting value. Each pipeline copies it at the moment the pipeline is created and keeps it from then on. A pipeline's own currency is changed from its panel under Settings → Pipelines — see Pipelines.
Changing the Default Currency
Organization owners and admins can change the default currency at any time. Members can see it, but saving a change as a member is refused.
Go to Settings → General for your organization.
In the Default currency section, pick a currency. You can search by
code (BRL), symbol (R$) or name (Brazilian Real).
Save. The change is recorded in your organization's activity log as Organization Updated, with the previous currency.
Changing the default currency affects new pipelines only. Every pipeline that already exists stays in its own currency, and so do its deals. Nothing is converted: no exchange rate is stored or applied anywhere.
The default currency is not available over the REST API. A pipeline created
through POST /api/v1/pipelines without a currency starts in it — see
Pipelines.
